Cool Cats Contact Program

The Cool Cats Contact Program is coordinated by Annalisa Fox, an experienced Family Support Practitioner with over 20 years working within the foster care and out-of-home care sector.

Annalisa has supported children, parents and carers navigating complex family circumstances including trauma, placement instability, reunification planning and supervised family contact. Her practice approach is grounded in trauma-informed principles, with a strong focus on emotional safety, relationship stability and practical pathways toward positive family outcomes.

Through her leadership in social enterprise and workforce participation programs, Annalisa has also supported many women and families to build confidence, independence and stronger futures. This experience informs the Cool Cats model, ensuring contact is delivered in environments that are structured, respectful and focused on meaningful connection.

Supervised centre-based contact

  • Visits conducted within the safe, home-style environment of Serena’s Place

  • Opportunities for shared play, meals, routine-based interaction and quiet connection

  • Supportive supervision focused on strengthening attachment and parenting confidence

Community-based supervised contact

Cool Cats provides supervision in community environments to support natural interaction and real-world parenting experiences.

Community contact may include:

  • playground or park visits

  • shared meals at cafes or picnic settings

  • shopping trips

  • school holiday or recreational activities

  • cultural outings

  • attendance at agreed child appointments or events

Each outing is planned through a structured risk assessment process to ensure:
✔ physical safety
✔ emotional stability
✔ clear behavioural expectations
✔ appropriate supervision ratios
✔ transport and logistical coordination

Community contact is particularly beneficial where families are preparing for reunification or transitioning from higher levels of supervision.

  • Collection and return of children

  • Transport to community contact or centre-based visits

  • Supervision maintained from receipt to handover
